Thank you for a well written article. As a mental health counselor I am concerned about the lack of training or license requirements for emotional support animals. For this reason I choose not to provide ESA letters to my clients. I’m not willing to accept the risk of being responsible for the actions of their pets. I think pets can provide support for mental health conditions and I encourage them along with a variety of other tools.
