Writing In Bed

If you know when the words flow easily, that’s the time to write.

I’ve heard the warnings. Avoid screen time an hour before bed. Only use your bed for sleeping and love making. I have a lot of sleep issues and I should listen, but I don’t.

I started blogging after my husband Patrick died. I wrote when I was feeling down. The hardest time of the day was at night, when I was trying to go to sleep. So that’s when I wrote.

Since I wrote in bed, I used my phone. I started on Tumblr and then switched to Wordpress. You can find my blog, My Life After Patrick on Wordpress.

Both of those platforms have great apps that make it really easy to write from your phone. Now I prefer writing on Medium, but I give up a lot of editing capabilities if I use my phone. I also have to self-publish, since the app doesn’t allow me to submit to publications.

Even though I have all these roadblocks to writing in bed, I still miss it since it helped clear my head before going to sleep.

Tonight my head is clear. I had a lazy day today and I’m glad I still have one more day before I have to work again. Maybe I will write something substantial tomorrow.

In the meantime, since this is self-published, you can use the link below to subscribe to be notified when I write something new!
